Adept is a management franchise business that provides first-class cleaning services to clients within the commercial and industrial sectors. It offers the opportunity to establish and manage a team of staff across an exclusive territory and build a business with a substantial turnover. Franchisees are expected to earn £100k gross within 5 years.

The franchise fee is £19,850 + VAT. Other initial business set-up costs total around £5,000.

An Associate Member of the British Franchise Association, Adept Cleaning Services has been serving clients in the West Midlands for more than 15 years and expanded into the North West in 2007. The business is focused on providing a flexible, reliable cleaning service for commercial and industrial premises and has secured contracts with numerous well-known clients, including: English Heritage, Harvey Nichols, Audi, the Beatles Story, British Transport Police, the De Vere Belfry, Hilton hotels and Marriott hotels.

Adept’s first franchisee has achieved a turnover of £500,000 within 4 years, with a pre-tax profit margin of just over 20%. The potential for business growth within each territory is significant and franchisees are expected to take on area managers to support expansion within 3-5 years. The franchisor business, operating in the Birmingham area, currently has a turnover of approaching £1m and employs around 100 cleaning staff.

We believe that Adept offers a number of key benefits that make it stand apart from other franchise opportunities:

• Exclusive territories. Unlike some other franchises, each territory is exclusive, so franchisees are not competing with each other. Each franchisee is allocated specific postcode areas, based around major towns and cities in the UK that offer great opportunity for business growth.
• A low-risk business. The franchise is not capital-intensive and therefore represents a low-risk opportunity. Beside the initial franchise fee and business/office set-up costs, there is very little additional investment required.
• High level of personal support. Adept is not looking to recruit huge numbers of franchisees. With only around 40 territories available, the franchisor is able to offer a high level of personal support to each franchisee.
• Can be home-based. The business can easily be run from home, therefore start-up costs are low and franchisees can have a flexible working environment.

Comprehensive start-up training and on-going business, technical and I.T. support from the franchisor will help ensure a successful roll out in your territory.

Each year we’re looking to recruit just a small number of highly capable individuals, who have experience of managing people and projects and are looking for a new business challenge that has plenty of opportunity for growth.

Successful franchisees could come from a variety of different backgrounds, but all should have the following:

• a reasonable understanding of business finance and the corporate world
• the ability to present effectively to prospective clients
• excellent sales and administrative skills
• I.T. literacy
• good organisational & time management skills
• experience of managing a team
• a willingness to be hands-on, when necessary

The relationship between franchisor and franchisee is critical to the long-term success of the franchise, so we will only recruit people we genuinely like and trust.

• Total initial investment - £24,720 + VAT

We expect franchisees to break even by the end of year 2, so would advise that you have between £40,000 and £60,000 additional capital available to cover the first two years’ living expenses. Total minimum capital required is therefore around £70,000 to £90,000.
