Why metanym?We are web designers, not a franchise companyThis is not multi-level marketing, and we are not some group of so-called "entrepreneurs". This is not something we just dreamt up in the pub! We are a successful established web design business who have operated locally in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire for a total 9 years. Metanym was formed 3 years ago in Lincolnshire by Business Development and Marketing Manager Jon Williams after a successful career in the corporate world. He built up the company from scratch over a short period through word of mouth marketing, and in 2008 Metanym bought out a Yorkshire based competitor who had been in business for 9 years. With a large team of designers and developers, we can offer any type of website from the smallest to the most complex. We know how to build a business from scratchJon, Metanym's owner and MD, built up the business from scratch. Leaving the corporate world with a few months worth of redundancy money and a burning desire to create something successful, he set about building up his portfolio and marketing the business using a series of powerful low or no-cost methods. Our team is there to support youWe have a full team of 13 designers and developers who will build your customers' websites for you - you don't need to know HTML or how to design or programme - we will do that for you. Plus our support team includes: A dedicated Project Manager to ensure that all projects are delivered quickly and efficiently, a Business Development Manager to ensure you are getting the most out of the Metanym Partner Programme, and a Customer Technical Support Manager, who supports any technical requests or support issues as well as any small edits and changes to existing customers' websites. All you need to do is network locally - we do the restWe'll show you how to build your network locally and start securing your customers. Once a customer is on board, we will build the website and manage the contact with your customer. You'll be fully in the loop - that just makes good business sense - but you won't have to worry that you are spending valuable selling time delivering projects - that is all done for you. Once the website is ready, we will train the customer in the use of the content management system and support any go-live arrangements. And because of our support and marketing activities, you won't really need to sell - there's no cold calling if you don't want to - the beauty of our proposition is that we know how to build a powerful local business by word of mouth alone! National and local marketing campaignsAs well as launching your business for you with local advertising and a search engine optimised website, and giving you full training in how to make the best use of local opportunites, we conduct national marketing and advertising campaigns. This has the benefit of creating an open door for you to push at, for example when we target a particular sector like lawyers with advertising and mailshot/emailshot campaigns, it will create an awareness of Metanym in your area so that it is easier for you to contact local prospects, but it will also lead to direct enquiries from potential customers who will passed straight to you. That goes for any other enquiries that are received at Headquarters from a prospective customer in your area, for example via our blogging or social network marketing campaigns - they are passed straight on to you. Exciting range of solutions for all sizes of company...We have produced over 1000 websites of all shapes and sizes and for all sectors/sizes of company. You name it, we've done it! We have honed that experience for your benefit, so that you have a great range of standard solutions which you can offer to customers. Full training and support |
As a new Partner, you will attend a 3 day training course at Metanym's headquarters in Doncaster. On that course you will learn the secrets of our success, which will become the secrets of your success. The initial 3 day course covers our company ethos, capabilities and background, basic technical training (don't worry, it's nothing too taxing, but it helps to be aware of what can be done), and sales and marketing training. As well as your initial training, there are regular opportunities to gain further business and web related knowledge and skills through our online sytems or throught training courses and seminars held most months at Metanym HQ. |
Operations Manual |
Your training is supported and supplemented by a detailed Operations Manual which covers every aspect of your day to day running of your Metanym Partner business, from use of online systems, to advice on accountancy and tax issues, and sales and marketing advice. Combined with our training, this provides you with a real "out of the box" solution for running a successful web related business. But don't think we are so prescriptive that we don't listen to you - we certainly do - we listen to the experiences of our local Partners and build on them, learning from what works and what doesn't work. You can also share best practice with your fellow Partners via our online systems. |
Your own search engine optimised website |
As part of launching your local Metanym Partner business, we will produce a local Metanym website for you. This will be search engine optimised for your local area so that people searching for "web design" or similar in your local area on Google will naturally find your website and be able to contact you direct. Your website will also be part of our main corporate website, so that enquiries from companies who find our main website will also be directed to you if they are from your area. This is all part of making sure that awareness of the Metanym brand in your area is built up as quickly and as effectively as possible. |
A great income |
You'll make around £1000 on most medium sized websites, with the potential for much more on larger projects, so delivering just one website a week (a very achievable target) would give you an income of around £50k a year. The way it works is that for each website there is an agreed build cost (our price to produce) and an agreed RRP (your price to the customer). You are free to improve on the RRP if you able, and you keep the difference. We take care of all of the invoicing for you and pay you your Partner Profit (the difference between actual selling price and the build cost) immediately the customer has paid. Because we charge customers a percentage in advance at the beginning of the project (this is normal practice in the industry), your cash starts flowing as soon as the customer has signed up. |
Networking membership |
Networking might sound daunting, but it really isn't! A cornerstone of Metanym's success has been our attendance at local networking events, whether it be the local Chamber of Commerce, BNI, or other similar business network. We have found that referral and word of mouth based marketing really is the most effective way of building your name and contact sphere, and so the Partner Programme includes your first year's membership of an organisation like BNI, which will really help to get things off the ground for you. It worked for us! |
State of the art online systems |
You will be given access to our state of the art online management systems. This allows you to track and act on sales opportunities, produce online quotes and have your customers sign up and pay online for their websites, as well as giving you access to a wealth of backup material, and interraction with Metanym HQ, your fellow Partners, and also your customers, who have access to the system themselves so they can track the progress of their website build, approve designs and so on. We built this ourselves as we just couldn't find anything out there remotely like it! |
Professionally designed promotional materials |
You will receive professionally designed business stationery, such as business cards, compliment slips and letterhead, so you can operate locally under the Metanym brand and enables you to really look the part. Access to further marketing materials can be gained easily through our online systems. |
